Public Consultation

Obtaining stakeholder input and feedback into our proposed expansion project plans is a priority for Enbridge. We strongly believe in the importance of addressing questions and concerns from stakeholders and providing updates on key milestones as the projects progress. Enbridge will seek to engage all stakeholders—including customers, landowners, elected officials, regulatory agencies, business owners and farmers who have a vested interest in our project plans—on an ongoing basis from planning and construction through to operations. This will be done through one-on-one meetings with landowners. Enbridge will keep public officials updated on the progress of the project by mail and phone, meeting personally as necessary. This website is meant to be an ongoing resource.

We will plan public hearings, meetings or informational open houses depending on the regulatory requirements, permits and/or questions within the community. Affected landowners will be directly notified of opportunities for written or verbal public comment, hearings or other meetings by mail.

Enbridge is committed to environmental protection. Our policy is that the administration, planning, construction and operation of projects be accomplished in a manner that minimizes potential environmental impacts and promotes the concept of sustainable development.

We will gather information and conduct the field studies necessary to obtain environmental information about the lands where the pipelines and associated facilities are to be built. We also will assess the potential environmental impacts of the proposed pipelines and implement mitigation measures.

We will adhere to our environmental standards and procedures, consult with environmental stakeholders as required and follow our Environmental Guidelines for Construction during all expansion projects.
