The company owns and operates Enbridge Pipelines Inc. and a variety of affiliated pipelines in Canada. It also has an 27 percent interest in Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P., a publicly-traded master limited partnership and a leader in energy transportation in the Mid-Continent and Gulf Coast regions of the United States. Enbridge is also the sponsor and manager of the Enbridge Income Fund.

In addition, Enbridge is involved in international energy projects and has a growing involvement in natural gas transmission and midstream businesses through the Alliance and Vector pipelines and various U.S. assets that transport, gather, process and market natural gas and other petroleum products.

As a distributor of energy, Enbridge owns and operates Canada's largest natural gas distribution company, Enbridge Gas Distribution, which provides gas to industrial, commercial and residential customers in Ontario, Quebec and New York State. Enbridge distributes gas to 1.9 million customers and is developing a gas distribution network in New Brunswick.

The company employs approximately 6,000 people, primarily in Canada, the United States and South America. Enbridge Inc. common shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) in Canada and on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in the United States under the symbol ENB. The Enbridge Income Fund trades on the TSX under the symbol ENF. Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. units trade on the NYSE under the symbol EEP, and shares of Enbridge Energy Management, L.L.C., which manages the business and affairs of the Partnership, trade on the NYSE under the symbol EEQ.
